The Old Mill

A couple of weeks ago I went to Little Rock, AR for my father-in-law's surprise 60th birthday party. I was able to do a little work (play, actually) while I was there and met this beautiful family at the Old Mill to create family photos for them. The Old Mill is a historic structure, featured in the opening scene of Gone with the Wind. Needless to say, it was an enchanting place for a photography session.

Cuentos Foundation

Feeling compelled to volunteer some of my time to a worthy I cause, recently I became involved with an organization called Cuentos Foundation. They strive to "create and facilitate cross-cultural interdisciplinary art programs giving voice to the stories (cuentos) of our diverse communities." One of many Cuentos Foundation projects is documenting the production and culture behind exceptional copper work from Santa Clara, Mexico. I am helping by photographing all of their museum quality pieces. Take a look at the intricacy and supurb craftsmanship of this art:

If you are interested in purchasing a piece of fair trade copper or donating to this worthwhile organization, please contact Cuentos Foundation at info@cuentosfoundation.org.

Dance Baby Dance

Two weekends ago I tried my hand at dance photography. This was a really new experience for me and incorporated many components of photography that I don't usually encounter in the portrait world- low light, no flash, and tripod, to name a few. I really did have a blast, and I think I captured some great moments.

Now back to portraits...information about STL mini-sessions coming soon!

Spring Forward For Sure

Wow, did we spring forward! I can't believe we are almost to summer already. I've been meaning to post a few photos of one of the adorable families I photographed on a rainy spring day and am just getting around to it now.

Their doggy's name is Steve! How funny is that?

Really hoping the rain stops...

We were lucky the drizzle took a pause, and we were able to catch a few moments outside.
